Counselling for children and young people
Being a parent is difficult at the best of times. But when you can see your child struggling with their emotional wellbeing, being a parent can become overwhelming. We are all aware with of the calls for better mental health in our children, and yet it can be a real struggle to access the support your child needs. Halcyon Counselling offer a private solution to this need. We have the flexibility to offer a swift start to therapy that is not constrained by a limited number of sessions.
At Halcyon Counselling, we do not believe the counselling room is a place for diagnosing and fixing behaviour. When working with children we endeavour to create a caring space where your child is free to explore who they are and what it is that is troubling them. Using play, creativity and talking we aim to build a therapeutic relationship where your child can build confidence, understanding and a trust in their own potential to grow.
Our counsellors have experience working with children in a variety of settings: primary schools, charitable services and in private practice.
Counsellors who work with children are DBS checked and fully insured.
Sessions last 45-50 minutes for both children and young people.
